Moving into new studio....

It finally happened!!! AFter 2 months of waiting I finally got the new studio, so happy, absolutely lovely and perfect location. I can't wait to start painting.
p.s please excuse the high waisted jeans and short t-shirt combo. Not the most flattering of looks.

'The only way is Essex' and contempt for tits

Hello Everyone

I could have cried with happiness yesterday when I got the email saying I could pick up the keys to my new studio today.
I then wanted to cry again when they told me I could not because they had lost them. Then I was happy again because after I moaned they said they had another I could use! I pick them up on thursday. Praise be. I'm not getting too excited though. Anything could happen! I just can't wait to get in there. Haven't painted in months and starting to get antsy.

So, I've been gripped to 'the only way is Essex' for a couple of weeks now. It's just so addictive. Not many people would agree with me, but I'm absolutely in love with Amy Childs and I don't care how many cheek, lip and breast implants she's had. I can't stand Mark though and every time he speaks he comes out with something so offensive and misogynist I want to punch the TV. Very inspiring though - when discussing a boob job with his sister Jessica, he really did prove a point I have felt for some time. He says

'I don't want MY sister walking out with a big pair of fake boobs, with builders with their papers going 'phwoar'. I'd rather you be a sophisticated girl walking along the street how you are...'

See the contempt there for women who do have big breasts and attract male attention. I really believe that if people were perfectly happy to see their own wives/sisters/daughters with their kit off in men's magazines or starring in pornography, only then can they claim that there is no sexism or misogyny. Because to me it seems like it's not good enough for THEIR family, the people THEY love, but perfect okay for other girls. If this is the case, how can they claim that there is no contempt for these women?

I first felt this when reading an interview with a man who was the head of some lads mag, I think it was 'Loaded'. When asked if he would be happy for his daughter to be in the magazine he said 'I wouldn't want that for MY daughter, I'd expect her to have better choices'.

'Better' choices. Interesting.

Just contemplating what a pile of shit this is at the book fair at Crawley Word Festival this weekend.

For some reason it doesn't really seem to make much sense to me that ALL men are the same and ALL women are the same. Oh well, what does my common sense know??
